Questions answered

Common questions.

At 0.5%, this is a mid-strength retinol serum — best suited to those who have already used a lower-strength retinol (0.1–0.2%) for at least 6–8 weeks without significant reaction. If you are new to retinol, we recommend starting with a 0.2% option and stepping up.

This depends on the treatment. You will generally be asked to pause retinol use 3–5 days before and after chemical peels or microneedling sessions. Your clinician will provide a specific pre- and post-treatment protocol.

Some clients experience a brief purging phase (typically 2–4 weeks) as cell turnover accelerates. This is normal and expected. The inclusion of Niacinamide is specifically designed to minimise this response. If purging extends beyond 6 weeks or feels severe, contact our clinic team.
